María Alcocer Ruiz

I started my musical career in my home town Dolores, in Alicante, Spain by studying in my town's wind band school, called Sociedad Unión Musical de Dolores.
After that, I continued my professional studies in the conservatory. At the same time, I studied for my secondary education. In 2014, I started my Bachelor's Degree in the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Óscar Esplá" in Alicante, with the oboist Pedro Herrero.
While I was studying for my Bachelor’s Degree, I participated in great experiences playing in the Academic orchestra from San Vicente del Raspeig in Alicante and with many wind bands in the area of Alicante and Murcia. In addition, I collaborated with chamber music groups and in a national tour with the show Symphonic of Pink Floyd.

I obtained my degree in 2018 with great merit. I started my international career by moving to Sweden in order to study a Performance Master's Degree in the Malmö Academy of Music with Cristina Monticoli. At that time, Cristina was the principal oboist in the Malmö Symphonic Orchestra. In Malmö, I got to play in Lundaland Symphonic Orchestra and I made a tour in Brazil with Malmö Akademiska Kör och Orkester.
During my Master’s Degree, I also did an exchange semester in the Conservatorio Arrigo Boito in Parma, Italy. During my time in Italy, I participated in the Laboratory of Chamber Music playing the oboe for the Gran partita by Mozart in the inauguration of Parma Capitalle della Cultura. I also appeared in the national TV show "The Italian dream".

After finishing my Master's degree in 2020, I got to come back to the Malmö Academy of Music now as a professional musician for the orchestra project week with the conductor Robin O’Neill. 

Back in Spain, I got to play in the orchestra from the famous band Il Divo in a concert in Benidorm. 

In all these years I also had lessons with great musicians such as: Karel Schoofs from Rotterdam's Philharmonic Orchestra, Gordon Hunt from Philarmonia Orchestra and London Chamber Orchestra, Juliana Koch from London Symphony Orchestra, Diethelm Jonas from Musikhochschule Lübeck, Luca Vignali from Orchestra del teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Théophile Hartz from Malmö Opera, Annika Härdelin-Sandström from Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Jesper Harryson from Kungliga Filharmonikerna Stockholm, Washington Barella from Universität der Künste Berlin, Cristina Gómez Godoy from Staatskapelle Berlin .
